(TheRedWire.com) – On Monday, it was announced that Tucker Carlson was leaving Fox News. The shocking revelation led to a lot of speculation about why the top host was leaving the network. Some of these theories about his departure include:

Dominion Case Settlement

Dominion Voting Systems sued Fox for $1.6 billion, the case ended up settling out of court for $787.5 million. The settlement did not include the network issuing an apology, instead, they only needed to acknowledge the court’s ruling “finding certain claims about Dominion to be false.”

The case related to the false allegations about the 2020 presidential election being rigged, which were perpetuated through the network. Some of these claims included the accusation that Dominion had been flipping votes from then-President Trump to President Biden. Carlson proved to be a central figure in this case as many of his personal messages and reporting were included in the discovery.

Legal cases

The case by Dominion is not the only legal case that Fox News currently has to handle. In fact, Fox may have wanted Carlson to leave their network as a result of the case being brought forth by Abby Grossberg. Grossberg’s case was filed on March 20 and it includes Fox News, Carlson, and several others. In the lawsuit, she alleges that Fox News is a “misogynistic environment” and notes several instances and examples, some of which included Carlson.

Controversies

The Dominion case also resulted in many people seeing Carlson as two-faced. In large part, this is because his private and public messages presented two completely different perspectives.

Carlson had written in a message about Trump that “I hate him passionately.” However, on air, he often supported Trump and his arguments.
