(TheRedWire.com) – If someone is intent on hurting people, it doesn’t require a traditional weapon like a gun or a knife. Recently, this became obvious in a horrific way. On Sunday, November 21, Waukesha, Wisconsin, residents took to the streets in an annual passage of right. Every year the community comes together to celebrate the kickoff of the Holiday Season by hosting a Christmas parade. And while many times the event may be memorable to some, residents and Americans, in general, will remember this year’s event for generations to come. An SUV drove at a fast speed through the parade, deliberately plowing over people. Police confirmed that five people died and over 40 were injured.

Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly called the incident a horrendous and senseless act of violence. After the incident, police said they had recovered the vehicle. In addition, law enforcement took a person of interest into custody.
On Monday, police arrested 39-year-old Darrell Brooks, Jr, and charged him with five counts of first-degree intentional homicide. The authorities did not provide a motive for Brooks’s horrendous actions, but investigators discovered a Facebook page where the suspect commented that he wasn’t surprised that a jury found Kyle Rittenhouse innocent.
The 39-year-old suspect has an extensive criminal record. It dates back as far as 1999. This year alone, Brooks made bail twice in Wisconsin despite an active warrant for his arrest in Nevada over an alleged sex crime. He was recently out on bail after a domestic violence situation that allegedly involved him hitting a woman with his car.
