September Saw Massive Surge in Migrant Activity at Border
(TheRedWire.com) – Since President Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20, 2021, illegal immigration has spiked to record levels. During the presidential campaign, Biden promised to undo many of former President Donald Trump’s policies. The results have been stunning, and September saw a massive surge in migrant activity.
It’s clear the border remains open & the Biden Admin continues to ignore the chaos when there are real changes that could be made to secure it. It’s absurd that they cannot see the national security crisis they have created. #BidenBorderCrisis

In August, Border Patrol agents encountered 203,598 illegal immigrants. According to data released by the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), the agency reached an all-time record high In September. So how does it compare to previous years:
- In September 2022: 227,547 encounters
- In September 2021: 192,001 encounters
- In September 2020: 57,647 encounters
- In September 2019: 52,546 encounters
To make matters worse, CBP said authorities came across 20 known or suspected terrorists as well. That brought the total for the fiscal year 2022 to 98. Over the previous five years combined, the government came across only 26 suspected terrorists.
Fiscal Year 2022 ended on September 30. over 2.3 million total encounters occurred at the US southern border for the year. Again, that represents another all-time high. The data doesn’t include the 599,000 people who crossed the border illegally and escaped into the country uncaught.
Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officials said they are working with regional partners to solve the root causes of illegal immigration. They also say they want to expand legal paths to entry, find ways to remove people from the country more quickly, safely, and easily, and hold human traffickers to account.
