(TheRedWire.com) –  On Sunday, Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) claimed that President Joe Biden would respect whatever the Supreme Court ruling on former President Donald Trump’s immunity case is.

During an appearance Coons argued that there is a big difference between President Biden and former President Donald Trump when it came to their respect for the rule of law and their approach to the legal system.

During his interview, anchor Shannon Bream asked him whether he believes that Biden is going to show respect to the decision of the Supreme Court especially considering his criticisms of the high court for their previous decision on his student loan forgiveness plan.

This week, the Supreme Court is likely to make a decision on Trump’s immunity claim. Trump has previously argued that he should be completely immune from facing any charges associated with his attempts to change the results of the 2020 presidential election because of presidential immunity. The argument was previously rejected by the lower court, however it seems based on the oral arguments of the high court that they are open to considering some immunity for the former President.

The presidential immunity case has caused delays in Trump’s criminal trial in Washington, D.C. It is not yet clear what decision the Supreme Court is going to reach on this matter, but there are only a few days remaining until the deadline that the justices’ have set for themselves of the end of June, by which date they are looking to have finished the opinions.
