In reports that have surfaced about Biden’s feelings on the biggest crisis in his political career, sources have revealed the President feels hurt and betrayed.
Two sources familiar with the matter, revealed Biden felt angry at Democrats at how he was pushed out of being a presidential candidate.
The party’s Congressional leadership, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), alongside former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), have spent the last few weeks relaying Congressional Democrats’ concerns that went down with Biden and his campaign.
Their responses have reverberated across the party, as congressional leaders have typically shown unflinching loyalty to Biden, even in these new challenging times.
Influential Democrats, like former President Barack Obama, gave some public response on the matter since Biden’s dismal June 27 debate performance, tweeting, “Bad debate nights happen.”
However, one source close to the President questioned whether Democrats should be listening to people who “gave us Donald Trump?”
The source highlighted that in 2015, “Obama, Pelosi, [and] Schumer” favored Hillary over Biden, adding, “they were wrong then, and they are wrong now.”
The source suggested the trio learn from 2016, first that “polls are BS,” and that perhaps “Joe Biden is more in touch with actual Americans” than Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer.
In 2016, polls gave Hillary Clinton a 9-point lead but she went on to lose against Trump.
