(TheRedWire.com) – Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), in his response to Fox News’ coverage of the new dress code in the Senate, made a dig at Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), who recently came under fire for being removed from a musical performance as a result of her disruptive behavior.

Fetterman, in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, responded to the post by  Fox News by stating that they would probably call him a “hero” if he started “vaping and grabbing the hog during a live musical.” The post by Fox News was heavily focused on how Republicans viewed him as the reason why the Senate was changing its dress code requirements.

Last week, Boebert was removed from a performance of the musical “Beetlejuice,” along with a male companion she was with, after she was reportedly caught vaping, taking photographs with the flash on, and disturbing the performance by singing loudly. The Denver Theatre previously reported that the two had been unwilling to exit the venue despite an employee having threatened them that they would need to call the police. After being escorted out of the theater, it appeared like Boebert gave the security guard the finger. Videos from the incident have also been posted online.

Fetterman is known for wearing sports shorts and hoodies rather than suits on Capitol Hill. Following the changes in the dress code, many Republicans have stated that Fetterman was to blame for the change.

According to the new rules by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Senators would now be allowed to enter the floor wearing whatever they want rather than abiding by the dress code.
