(TheRedWire.com) – On Tuesday, during a campaign speech in Tampa, Florida President Biden slammed former President Donald Trump who he blamed for the abortion restrictions in many Republican-led states. During his speech, he specifically targeted Florida’s six-week abortion ban which is going to be going into effect in about a week.
During a brief campaign speech, Biden had slammed the presumptive Republican nominee for having appointed the justices who were responsible for the landmark abortion case Roe v. Wade being overturned. This decision put an end to the constitutional right to an abortion in the United States.
Biden argued that next week one of the most extreme anti-abortion laws in the country was going to go into effect. He argued that this law would criminalize reproductive healthcare for women even before they became aware of being pregnant. He added that they needed to be clear and that there was only one person who was responsible for “this nightmare” and that was former President Trump who openly bragged about his role in this.
The Biden 2024 campaign is placing abortion as one of the top issues it is addressing as it wants to ensure that voters remember what Trump’s record on this issue is.
Biden’s campaign team is also going to be releasing ads that will showcase the testimonies from women who had been impacted by the state abortion bans.
Polls have shown that the majority of American voters are not in favor of abortion bans. The GOP has had to deal with a number of losses in elections because of its abortion policy.
