(TheRedWire.com) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, in a recent interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, attempted to push the blame on President Biden for the House not being able to elect a new House Speaker following the historic ousting of Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.).

During her appearance on “State of the Union,” Haley was asked whether the remarks made by Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.) about the House Speakership election were accurate when he stated that the Republicans appeared “like a bunch of idiots” because the House did not have a Speaker. Haley started to respond by slamming the Biden administration. However, Tapper was quick to stop her and point out that the chaos in Congress was not something that the President could control.

Haley then stated that Tapper needed to let her finish and that with the Biden administration, there was chaos with inflation, the situation at the border, and across the world. She added that she was trying to say that Democrat chaos couldn’t be fixed with Republican chaos and that the Republicans needed to come together and decide who the next Speaker would be, as this was not a good look for the country.

She then pointed out that everyone had seen what had occurred in Israel because they had been distracted.

Last week, Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) decided to step down from the bid for the Speakership despite being selected by the conference to be the GOP nominee. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has now been selected by the Republican conference as the next nominee. However, it is not yet clear whether he is going to be able to win the necessary support to become the next House Speaker.
