(TheRedWire.com) – Former Attorney General Eric Holder in a recent interview with USA Today, stated that both he and his close friend former President Barack Obama believe that if former President Donald Trump wins a second term in office it could cause “incalculable damage.

Holder revealed that this is what he believes acted as a motivator for Obama. These comments came only days after a recent interview on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast, in which former first lady Michelle Obama admitted that she was “terrified” about what would happen in the 2024 election. As she stated this is because “our leaders matter.” She added that who is selected and who represents the people often “affects us” in ways that are taken for granted.

A source close to Obama has revealed that the former President often speaks with his former vice president and now-President Joe Biden. USA Today revealed that according to the source, Obama believed the presidential election would be a close race, and that Obama is going to assist with key voting bases, as Biden has been receiving less support from several demographics, including voters of color, who had been instrumental for his 2020 win.

USA Today reported that Obama has had open communication with Biden and his campaign, and has been trying to help him in his reelection campaign.

Still, Biden’s approval rating has hit record lows with many polls showing that voters are unhappy about the way Joe Biden is handling key issues, including immigration as well as the war and humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza as a result of the Israel-Hamas war.
