(TheRedWire.com) – Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) released Saturday, calling for President Biden to cancel the visas of all foreign nationals who have supported Hamas, a Palestinian militant group responsible for the recent surprise terrorist attacks against Israel near the Gaza Strip.

In his release, he noted that the United States was the world’s “most generous” country but that they could not allow those who supported terrorist groups to continue entering and staying within their country.

Following the attacks on Oct. 7, there have been more than 2,800 deaths on both sides, which has resulted in demonstrations across the United States in support of both sides. In New York City’s Times Square, thousands of demonstrators gathered to support Palestine.

On Wednesday, Reuters also reported that Khaled Meshaal, the former Hamas leader, called for all Muslims to support Hamas, which currently controls the Gaza Strip.
Many government officials, including New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D), have noted that they are disturbed by the calls for additional violence, which has increased security across the United States.

The protest in New York City was part of a greater movement and was included in the “International Day of Action for Palestine.”

Rubio has argued that the Biden administration has the authorization to cancel visas and that they needed to do so in cases of foreign nationals supporting terrorist activity. This was a reference to the foreign nationals who have supported or defended the Palestinian militant group, which has called for jihad or similar violence to eliminate the Israeli state.
