(TheRedWire.com) – Republican Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida has alleged that the “deep state” was working to stop former Vice President Mike Pence from making a presidential bid.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that classified documents had been found in Pence’s home. This is the third case of classified documents being mishandled that has recently been made public. Previously, hundreds of classified documents had been found in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, and batches of classified documents had been found in President Biden’s former private office and his home in Delaware. Both of these cases are currently being investigated by the Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel to oversee each probe.
In a recent tweet, Gaetz said that the “deep state” would probably make Garland appoint another special counsel to oversee Pence’s classified documents case, especially if Pence decides to run in 2024.
Gaetz suggested in a tweet that the supposed deep state would direct Garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate Pence if the former vice president decides to run for president in 2024. He then called this the “deep state’s mouthpieces” which are clearly telling Mike Pence not to launch a presidential campaign.
In another recent tweet, Gaetz argued that the deep state was trying to destroy Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign through the revelation that he still had classified documents from the Obama administration in his former private office and Delaware home.
The deep state is believed to be a group of influential people who are secretly exerting control over the government.
