( – Two prominent figures from the House Democratic Caucus, Nancy Pelosi and Jim Clyburn, have expressed their support for Harry Dunn’s congressional campaign.

Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker from California, shared her endorsement via a post on the social media platform X: “Proud to endorse @libradunn for Congress in #MD03! Harry will defend our democracy and fight for the people of Maryland. He’ll work for transportation funding, lower taxes for working families, and protect the Chesapeake Bay.”

Harry Dunn announced his candidacy for the 3rd Congressional District of Maryland in January. He gained significant public attention in 2021 during his testimony before Congress about the January 6th Capitol riot, where he detailed his firsthand experiences of violence against fellow officers and recounted the racial abuse he faced from the rioters.

Additionally, Representative Jim Clyburn of South Carolina has backed Dunn’s bid for Congress. Clyburn’s endorsement was detailed in a press release issued by Dunn’s campaign team on Friday, stating, “With the utmost confidence, I support Harry Dunn in his run for Congress.” Clyburn added, “Having known Harry as a dedicated public servant, it’s clear he has consistently stood up for what is right and addressed extremist threats to our democracy. Harry’s dedication, story, and selflessness are vital for achieving a Democratic majority capable of bringing substantial results for the American people.”

Dunn expressed his deep appreciation for the support from both Pelosi and Clyburn, acknowledging his profound respect and admiration for their leadership.

His campaign has also garnered support from other notable Democrats such as Adam Schiff from California, Bennie Thompson from Mississippi, Eric Swalwell from California, and Jasmine Crockett from Texas, all endorsing his campaign and contributing to his growing support within the party.
