(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s older sister Maryanne Trump Barry, 86, has passed away. The news was confirmed to Fox News by the New York Police Department.

The New York Times noted that Barry had served as a former federal appellate judge until April 2019 when she retired. According to the reports she had passed away while in her Manhattan home, and was found in the morning.

In 2016, Trump referred to his older sister as a “highly respected judge” while stating that there were certain policy issues that they did not agree on. In 2020, Trump had dismissed the alleged secret audio recordings of his sisters in which she had called him “cruel” and had stated that he had “no principle.”

At the time, Trump had simply stated that every day there was “something else” coming out and had questioned who cared. The story about the recording had first been released by the Washington Post only one day after the private memorial service at the White House for Rober Trump, who had died at the age of 71. Robert Trump was the former President’s youngest brother.

Mary Trump, Trump’s niece, had been the one to make the recordings of Barry as part of a tell-all book on the Trump family. In the secret recording, Barry had called her brother “cruel.” She had also stated that all he wanted was to appeal to his supporters and that he lacked principles.

Barry was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1999 by then-President Clinton.
