(TheRedWire.com) – Only days after the death of three American soldiers by Iranian proxies, Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., has put forward a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for former president Donald Trump.
In a statement to Fox News Digital Tenney argued that Trump had been instrumental in the Abraham Accords treaty, which as he pointed out was the first new peace agreement in the Middle East in close to three decades. He proceeded to point out that foreign policy experts had for years insisted that it was impossible for a peace agreement in the region to be passed unless there was a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, the former President showed that this was not the case.
Previously the Nobel Peace Prize had acknowledged the peace accord in 1978 between Egypt and Israel, and the 1994 Oslo Accords. However, Trump has not been offered any recognition for his role in brokering the agreement between Israel and four of its neighboring Arab countries. Tenney pointed out that this agreement had allowed for relations between different nations to be normalized.
Tenney argued that President Trump’s valiant efforts in the creation of the Abraham Accords have not yet been recognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. He added that there was a great need for him to be nominated, especially as the weak leadership of President Joe Biden has led to national security threats. He continued by arguing that he was eager to see Trump receive the recognition that he deserved for his peace-making efforts.
