(TheRedWire.com) – Senator John Fetterman, a vocal supporter of President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, has blasted the Democrats who have joined the party’s primary race ahead of the 2024 election. He proceeded to argue that the attacks against the President were actually more beneficial to former President Donald Trump than sending him a check would be.
On Tuesday, during an interview on CNN, Fetterman argued that some Democrats were expressing these unhelpful opinions. He proceeded to question the point of these statements and why they were trying to diminish Biden and strengthen Trump. He argued that it would have required much less effort if they had just written a check to Trump.
The comments by the senator come as Representative Dean Phillips’ campaign has started to become increasingly more critical of the President. Phillips, who had initially been launched his presidential bid as a supposed effort to help “strengthen” Biden, had instead ended up diminishing him.
In recent weeks, Phillips’ campaign has become far more aggressive, with him attacking Biden over his mental fitness. He has even referred to the President as a threat to U.S. Democracy. This behavior shift became much more noticeable after he had been left off the primary ballot in North Carolina and Florida. This decision was one that the candidate had blasted, pointing out it was “undemocratic manipulation” and comparable to the political moves made by the Islamic Republic of Iran. He added that if Biden were not a threat to democracy, then he would not get to control what occurred in Florida.
