(TheRedWire.com) – On Tuesday, President Biden’s reelection campaign argued that a possible House impeachment inquiry would just be a part of the House GOP’s ploy to boost the campaign of former President Donald Trump.

In a memo, Biden-Harris 2024 communications director Michael Tyler argued that the only significant fact of this “sham impeachment exercise” is that it is a transparent attempt by the House MAGA GOP to boost the presidential campaign of Trump ahead of the next presidential election.

A vote is set to take place in the House authorizing the formal inquiry, which could help boost the legal arguments made by the House Republicans as they are heading toward impeachment. Trump has previously supported the efforts of the House GOP to push for an impeachment.

Last week, Tyler in the memo pointed out that Trump had stated that he would only act as a dictator on “day one” of his second administration. He further pointed out that last month Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) had argued that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to proceed with the impeachment. Tyler proceeded to question what had changed since then.

As he pointed out, MAGA Republicans only control one branch of government, and it was that brand that was upholding the promises of Donald Trump to have retribution against his political opponents. He argued that the House GOP was following a “dictator” instruction. He further pointed out that Trump’s allies in Congress, including Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), had previously stated that they were looking to provide Trump with some more “ammo to fire back.”
