(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday John Bolton, a former national security adviser, slammed former President Donald Trump arguing that the Russian government would celebrate if he won back the White House as they perceived him to be an “easy mark.”

During an interview, Bolton argued that if he was elected there were going to be celebrations in the Kremlin. He proceeded to tell MSNBC’s Jen Psaki that this was undoubtedly because Russian President Vladimir Putin viewed Trump as an easy mark.

Previously the Russian President had praised Donald Trump, however last week he claimed that President Biden was “more predictable” which is why he would prefer it if he was the one to win the election.

Bolton however dismissed the comment and argued that in his recent remarks, Putin had outdone himself with pushing forward “disinformation.”

Trump and Putin have long had a good relationship, however, Bolton has argued that the former President was just playing into the Russian president’s hand. He also slammed Trump for not making a more condemning statement following the death of Alexei Navalny, who was one of Putin’s biggest opposition leaders.

On Friday it was reported that Navalny had died. Domestic critics of the Russian President as well as many foreign leaders slammed Putin arguing that the move was most likely a political assassination.

Bolton argued that Trump would not say anything critical of Putin. He added that in Russian prison camps of the type Navalny was in there were no accidents.
On Monday, Trump issued a statement regarding Navalny’s death, after the interview with Bolton, drawing a comparison between his death and the legal situation that Trump is currently facing.
