(TheRedWire.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris in an interview with ABC News aired on Tuesday expressed that she was confident she and President Biden would win the November reelection regardless of who their opponents ended up being. This is despite the fact that polls have shown that former President Donald Trump is leading the race in several key swing states.
Harris argued during the interview that regardless of who would end up being the Republican nominee they would win the election. As she pointed out, if it ended up being Trump, then he is someone that they had defeated before and that they could defeat in the presidential race again. She added that when you actually look at the issues that were currently at stake, including where the world currently stood, the majority of people in America were seeking to have more come out of this presidential election.
During a trip to South Carolina Harris spoke up about the threats that “extremists” posed to the country and noted that they had brought on gun violence, abortion restrictions, and book bans across the United States.
Trump is the main front-runner in the GOP presidential race and had a major victory in the Iowa caucuses. He is also the frontrunner in the early primary state polls in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada.
Polling has also found that currently Trump and President Biden are almost tied in a possible hypothetical match-up with The Hill/ Decision Desk HQ stating that Trump was ahead by 1 point across the nation. Biden however is behind former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley in a potential match-up by 3 percent.
