(TheRedWire.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris was shocked by CBS’ Margaret Brennan’s question about whether she was taking the possibility of former President Donald Trump winning a second term in office “seriously enough.” Harris appeared stunned by the question and even paused before stating that she did not understand the question being asked.
Brennan explained that Harris has been dismissive of several of the criticisms she and President Biden have received from GOP members. She added that according to the current national polls, Trump is leading the 2024 GOP primary race.
In response, Harris doubled down, stating that President Biden would be the 2024 presidential election victor and that the American people were aware of how much was “at stake” in the next election.
Brennan questioned Harris’s response, pointing out that most U.S. voters have expressed concerns about President Biden’s age.
Harris argued that she was certain of her response and that Biden would be acceptable. She added that she works with the President daily and that the country’s infrastructure had been entirely transformed under his leadership.
Brennan also brought up questions about what the abortion limit should be, especially given the push from the administration to codify abortion rights. However, Harris avoided responding to that question and did not state which week the cutoff point for abortions should be. Instead, she argued that the Roe v. Wade protections needed to be restored.
