(TheRedWire.com) – On Sunday, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) argued that it was wrong of former Attorney General Bill Barr (R) to suggest that a vote in support of President Biden was the equivalent of “national suicide.”

Cheney argued on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Barr was completely wrong, and that while she has not endorsed anyone in the 2024 presidential race there is no chance she would ever back former President Donald Trump. She added that everyone knew what Trump was going to do because he was announcing it every single day. She pointed out that anyone who has studied the history of autocrats and autocracies will know that they needed to carefully listen to everything that Trump was saying.

CNN’s Jake Tapper had asked Cheney about the recent comments that Barr had made last week regarding how a vote for Trump was like “playing Russian roulette” while voting for Biden was “national suicide.”

Cheney argued that electing Trump in office again would not be the same as playing Russian roulette. Instead, she claimed that it would just mean that a man would be in office who is determined to unravel the constitutional framework of the United States. She added that this was something that Barr had been wrong on.

Tapper had proceeded to ask Cheney whether she was still considering running for the White House. However, she did not respond to that question. She also dodged a question about whether or not she would back Biden in the presidential election if it ended up being a 2020 rematch. As she argued she has not yet made any choices but her primary goal would be to ensure Trump would not be elected.
