(TheRedWire.com) – On Wednesday, Alina Habba, attorney for former President Donald Trump pointed out that Fulton County prosecutors had been sloppy after the dismissal of six counts in the election interference case in Georgia against Trump and his allies.

Habba, who is not currently involved in Trump’s racketeering case in Georgia, argued that the recent ruling against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D) had been a “step in the right direction.” As she argued during her appearance on Fox News’s “The Story” she would have preferred to have seen all of the counts against Trump be dropped. She added that this was most likely what should have happened, but even the dismissal of a few counts was still moving them in the right direction.

She then proceeded to argue that the dismissal was proof of the “sloppiness” of the prosecutors in Georgia. She said that they knew that this was the case and that in reality this case against Trump should not have been brought forward.

These remarks came after Judge Scott McAfee determined that six of the 41 counts that have been filed overall against Trump and his allies should be dismissed. This includes three of the 13 counts that had been filed against Trump in the case.

The dismissal of the charges against Trump was in large part related to the pressure he had put on Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) as he tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Specifically, they related to Trump’s infamous call in which he had directed the governor to “find” the necessary votes for him to be declared the winner in the state.
