(TheRedWire.com) – Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) has claimed that Hollywood stars were attempting to “buy” her current congressional district, so she opted to switch districts.
In an interview on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, released on Saturday, Boebert claimed that Hollywood stars like Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds had been donating to Adam Frisch, who has her Democratic opponent in her district. She stated that this was also why she decided to switch from the 3rd Congressional District to the 4th Congressional District and that her focus was always on helping advance conservative values and principles.
However, as she argued, they needed to have a strong voice to oppose the Hollywood elites who were attempting to buy her district. She added that they have spent around $10 million on the district but that her district was not up for sale.
Last week, Boebert announced that she would be switching districts, which would allow her not to have to face Frisch again. In the 2022 midterm, she beat Frisch with only 546 more votes. However, since then, Frisch has managed to raise $7.7 million, while Boebert only has $2.2 million to spend on her campaign.
Boebert has claimed she would not let “dark money” be used to “steal this seat.” She also reiterated that her opponents in the race were funded by Hollywood in an attempt for these stars to buy their way to Congress. In her statement, she specifically called out Reynolds.
