(TheRedWire.com) – In former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-Wyo.) new book “Oath and Honor” she claims that Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) had told her that former President Donald Trump had acknowledged his electoral loss in 2020 only two days after the Presidential election.

CNN obtained a copy of the book ahead of its expected release this upcoming Tuesday. In the book, Cheney goes into detail about her experience in the GOP following the 2020 election. In the report, it is noted that the former lawmaker claimed that McCarthy after talking with Trump had informed her that the former President was aware that it was over.

However, McCarthy proceeded to argue that it was necessary for Trump to go through “all the stages of grief.”

McCarthy had also visited Trump in his Mar-a-Lago home following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Cheney alleged that at the time McCarthy’s visit had been prompted by the fact that Trump was refusing to eat. This new account once again delves into the claims that Trump had supposedly believed that he had been the winner of the 2020 presidential election, which is what prompted him to take action in order to remain in office.

Cheney who was the House Jan. 6 select committee vice chair, has previously suggested along with other committee members that Trump was aware that he had lost to Biden during his attempts to overturn the presidential election results.

Trump has been indicted in two separate cases relating to his attempts to remain in power following the election.
