(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to post a campaign ad in which he praised the counter-protesters that had emerged on U.S. university campuses, including the group of students that had held up a U.S. flag.

The video starts off by noting that campuses were having a hard time controlling students and restoring order. The ad proceeds to note that while some campuses were struggling to control their students, at UNC Chapel Hill they were restoring order.

The ad shows photos and videos taken at the multiple different pro-Palestinian protests across the country. It also specifically showcased the footage from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where students had helped up the U.S. flag during the campus demonstration.

The incident in question had occurred on Tuesday when members of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity had gone viral for trying to hold up the American flag as activists tried to throw items at them. Following this incident, a GoFundMe was set up with the sole goal of throwing the fraternity a “Rager.” So far GoFundMe has raised more than $500,000 and has received a $10,000 donation from Bill Ackman, a billionaire investor.

The ad in a different section includes news segments taken from different outlets in response to the protesting students. The ad notes that the students had “stood strong” holding the U.S. flag despite being hit with bottles and rocks. It then referred to the fraternity brothers as the “most popular college students” and pointed out how patriotic their defense of the American flag was.
