(TheRedWire.com) – On Wednesday, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) asked whether she considered Vice President Harris the best option for President Biden’s running mate. In response, she answered by stating that Biden “thinks so.”
During the interview on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” Pelosi avoided answering questions about Harris’ suitability as a running mate and instead argued that Harris was “politically astute.” She further noted that what was important was that Biden believed Harris to be the best option for 2024. She added that people were not giving Harris the credit she deserved and that her values aligned with the President’s.
She proceeded to praise Harris for her ability to show voters why she was the most suitable candidate for the job, and she claimed that most people did not understand everything Harris was bringing to the table. She argued that if Harris were not as “politically astute, ” she would not be vice President.
She further stated that the job of the vice President was usually a thankless one and that her role is to help support the U.S., which Harris has done very well. She added that people often ask her why Harris was not doing certain things. She argued that this was part of the job description and that the Vice President often did not do much but instead acted as a “source of strength, inspiration, intellectual resource.”
She proceeded to claim that Harris had thus far done very well with how she has represented the country domestically and internationally.
