(TheRedWire.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to state that if the United Auto Workers (UAW) union did not officially endorse him for the 2024 presidential election, they were “toast.” The union announced on Friday that they would be expanding their strikes.

Trump’s remarks on Truth Social came in response to President Biden’s recent announcement when he participated in the UAW worker’s picket line on Tuesday as a show of solidarity.

On Friday, Shawn Fain, the union’s president, announced that an additional 5,600 union members in 20 different states would be part of the strike action. Fain further argued that Stellantis and General Motors were going to be hit with action from the Big Three, while negotiations with Ford have allegedly progressed a lot.

Following Biden’s announcement about joining the picket line, Trump took to his Truth Social network and stated that Biden had completely abandoned auto workers because of his position supporting electric vehicles.

In his statement, Trump further argued that Biden did not originally intend to visit the United Auto Workers but that when he realized he would be calling, he decided to help them out. He added that Joe had sold the union members through his push for all Electric vehicles. He proceeded to argue that this was not Biden’s plan or idea as he is unable to “put two sentences together.”

He then added that if he did not get the endorsement of the UAW leadership, then the union workers were “toast.”
